An update on CAUSINDY and COVID-19

26 Mar, 2020 | Announcements

All of us in the CAUSINDY community have been following developments around the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on our communities. Although we are only beginning to understand the effect the virus will have on everyday life, it’s clear that it will be significant, particularly for organisations that focus on facilitating people-to-people engagement.

As a result, the CAUSINDY board has taken the difficult decision to postpone this year’s CAUSINDY conference to 2021. We will also be calling off planned in-person events, including alumni networking activities.

The safety and wellbeing of our team, and the wider CAUSINDY community, is our most important consideration. We felt that current circumstances — especially restrictions on travel and public gatherings — mean delaying the conference is the most responsible course of action.

This is likely to be a challenging time for many of us, and community is more important now than ever. Already the team has put together exciting plans for the next CAUSINDY conference, which will be returning when circumstances permit.

But CAUSINDY isn’t going away. We are exploring new ways to build meaningful relationships between emerging leaders in our two countries by virtual means — stay tuned for more information over the coming months.

If you have any questions or concerns about this year’s plans, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Otherwise stay healthy, take care, and be mindful of others.
