Amdya Mashfufah Hisyam

Amdya currently works with the PAIR Sulawesi (Partnership for Australia-Indonesia Research) program at The Australia-Indonesia Centre, based in Makassar, where she facilitates collaborations between Indonesian and Australian researchers, government stakeholders, and communities. Co-funded by the Australian and Indonesian governments, the PAIR program supports evidence-based research on coastal communities, particularly in the areas of net zero energy transition, circular economy, climate and health resilience, and GEDSI-informed development.

She is also co-founder of the Sulapa Institute, a social research think tank that supports early-career researchers and promotes inclusive development in Eastern Indonesia. Prior to returning to Indonesia, she was involved in community initiatives abroad, which strengthened her cross-cultural perspective and ongoing commitment to social impact.

 

Byanmara

Byanmara is an ESG and climate transformation practitioner focused on sustainability strategy, change management, and capacity building, currently serving as Executive Director of Daun+. She helps organizations turn complex sustainability challenges into practical action through training, consulting, and reporting, with a current focus on supporting just transition efforts in the energy sector.

Passionate about people and nature, she began her career in the NGO and social enterprise space, working on blue carbon project development, including mangrove and coral ecosystems, as a Senior Community Development Manager. She later spent four years in the corporate sector leading ESG programs and transformation initiatives, strengthening her ability to bridge impact with business strategy.

Byanmara developed a strong interest in Indonesia Australia collaboration after her experience in Australia through the Working Holiday program sparked her focus on cross regional collaboration on climate and sustainability.

Cindy Rachmaningrum

Cindy is a communications practitioner with nearly a decade of experience in public relations across diverse sectors. She currently works with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Based at the Australian Consulate-General in Makassar, she conducts desk-based research on key important issues in eastern Indonesia and manages a wide range of stakeholders, including government, business, NGO, youth and media.

Since her university years, Cindy has been deeply committed to social development, actively contributing to international youth organisations and volunteer initiatives. She also oversees the implementation of small-scale renewable energy projects in eastern Indonesia funded by the Direct Aid Program. Through her work, she is dedicated to advocating inclusive and equitable access to energy across the region.

Dani Julian

Dani Julian is an Impact Investing Ecosystem Manager at KINETIK Hub and a clean energy ecosystem builder focused on advancing inclusive climate solutions in Indonesia. With a background spanning coastal community development, clean energy, and climate innovation, he has worked across sectors to support initiatives that connect sustainability, social impact, and investment.

Previously at New Energy Nexus Indonesia, Dani contributed to the development of projects related to clean energy access, climate entrepreneurship, and coastal community resilience. His work includes developing clean energy initiatives for small scale fisheries and integrating Gender, Disability, and Social Inclusion principles into project design and partnerships.

In 2024, Dani completed the Australia Awards Short Course at Griffith University on Mainstreaming GEDSI in Indonesia’s Energy Transition. Growing up in a coastal area in West Kalimantan continues to shape his commitment to ensuring the energy transition is both inclusive and community centered.

Daniel Maynard Samosir

Daniel is a renewable energy professional passionate about industry decarbonisation, community energy, business management, and leadership. His most recent experiences are advising industries on implementing renewable energy and efficiency measures through the GIZ-led Sustainable Energy Transition in Indonesia programme, and previously developing rooftop solar energy projects in Suryanesia. He is also initiating sustainable irrigation for farmers through his sociopreneurship, Payung Biru, after graduating from the MSc Renewable Energy, Enterprise and Management at Newcastle University. He is a ‘limited edition with special prices’ accoutred with versatility, a willingness to go out of his comfort zone, and a desire to help and connect with others.

Efran Aqino

Efran is a sustainable development advocate focused on sustainable agriculture, indigenous communities, and forestry.

For the past three years, Efran has been actively working in the field in West Papua, specifically in Fakfak, with the Kaleka Indonesia Foundation. In this role, he supports landscape-based sustainable development through strengthening the agricultural sector and empowering indigenous communities.

Currently, Efran is part of the Lingko Hijau Indonesia Foundation, a non-governmental organization based in Flores. There, he contributes to efforts to strengthen food security, energy, education, and conservation on the island of Flores. The Lingko Hijau Indonesia Foundation is also part of the Aliansi Kolibri Indonesia network.

In addition, Efran is actively involved in various youth forums and movements focused on sustainable development issues. He also continues to play a role in advocacy and education through two communities he leads: the Jejak Hijau Indonesia Community and the Kitong Konservasi Movement.

Hanif Falah

Hanif is a Technical Officer for Nature-based Solutions at the IUCN Asia Regional Office. His experience focuses on climate and nature, programme management, and stakeholder engagement across regional and bilateral partners in Asia. He previously worked for donor agencies, managing Official Development Assistance for Australia and Norway in the ASEAN region, and in the private sector, where he led sustainability initiatives. Hanif has managed policies and programmes across areas including nature-based solutions, climate change, renewable energy, marine plastics, and social development. He holds a master’s degree in environmental technology from Imperial College London.

Melisa Nirmaladewi

Melisa Nirmaladewi is a program management professional in the nonprofit and development sector, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and public sector transformation. She has led and supported the design and delivery of multi-stakeholder initiatives that advance green innovation, youth empowerment, and ecosystem development across Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

With a background in International Relations from Universitas Airlangga and as an alumna of the YSEALI Fellow of Natural Resource Management program, she has contributed to climate-focused initiatives, including climate innovation competitions, youth-led peatland conservation efforts, and climate education programs.

Melisa is also actively engaged in research and analysis on the just energy transition and low-carbon development, particularly within local contexts. She is passionate about advancing inclusive, community-driven innovation by empowering women and youth.

Nadya Nurul Utami

Nadya is a Climate Modeller at Oxford Policy Management, embedded at Indonesia's National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) through the UK FCDO-funded Low Carbon Development Initiative. She builds and maintains the National Green Economy Model and Provincial Green Economy Models that feed directly into Indonesia's long- and medium-term development plans.

She has an interest in integrating gender, disability, and social inclusion into climate and energy modelling — ensuring transition planning accounts for who benefits and who bears the cost. She has co-authored Indonesia's Low Carbon Strategy for the RPJPN 2025–2045, contributed to the BRICS Youth Energy Outlook 2025, and completed an OSeMOSYS case study on Indonesia's energy transition pathways. Through CAUSINDY, Nadya looks forward to learning from Australia's energy transition modelling landscape and bringing those insights into her work on inclusive climate policy in Indonesia.

Nayla Erzani

Nayla Erzani is currently pursuing a Master of Global Media Communication at the University of Melbourne, with a focus on communication for social change. She previously worked as a Project Associate at Communication for Change (C4C), where she helped translate think tank policy ideas into engaging narratives to support the energy transition and reach broader audiences in Indonesia.

With experience in both the development sector and the creative industry, Nayla enjoys telling stories that make topics such as the just energy transition easier to understand and more relevant to everyday life. She strives to bridge research and policy with the laypersons in a meaningful way, driven by her passion for using media and communication to create real impact.

Riyan Nurrahman

Riyan Nurrahman is a young renewable energy advocate working at the intersection of policy engagement, education, and field-level implementation. He mobilizes more than 1,000 volunteers through the Generasi Energi Bersih platform to advance energy transition campaigns across Indonesia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. In his professional work, he collaborates with the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) in implementing practical emission reduction initiatives at PLTMH Ciptarasa and Mangrove Ecotourism sites under a Sustainable Emission Reduction (SERI) Program. through hands-on, community-based programs engaging students and teachers across schools and universities. His initiatives include practical training on mini solar power systems (PLTS) for educators, aimed at strengthening early climate literacy and foundational technical understanding of renewable energy.

Currently, Riyan serves as Strategic Partnership Manager at the Indonesia Free Emission Foundation (Yayasan Indonesia Bebas Emisi), where he focuses on building cross-sector partnerships to accelerate clean energy adoption. Riyan aligns his energy transition advocacy with national policy priorities, including the National Energy General Plan (Rencana Umum Energi Nasional) and the New and Renewable Energy Bill (Rancangan Undang-Undang Energi Baru dan Energi Terbarukan), contributing to Indonesia’s target of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060 or earlier. He actively engages with key government stakeholders, including Commission XII of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), the Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), the National Energy Council (DEN), and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), to translate policy frameworks into actionable, scalable, and community-driven programs.

Saras Alfiasari

Saras Alfiasari is a Master of Public Policy and Management student at the University of Melbourne with interests in policy analysis such as comparative policy particularly in the areas of democracy, environmental politics, and climate change. She has experience working with civil society and Australia–Asia engagement initiatives, including roles in gender and ecological advocacy as well as regional diplomacy programs.

Saras has also contributed to research and policy discussions on sustainable energy and public participation through academic forums and youth engagement initiatives. She also involves in the Asia Australia Youth Association, supporting stronger Australia–Asia connections. She is currently in the process of developing "Sumbu Setara,” an initiative focused on women’s empowerment, climate action, and social justice.

Yacob Manuhua

Yacob Manuhua is a structural engineer at Beca Jakarta, part of a New Zealand-based engineering consultancy, where he contributes to power-related projects supporting electricity transmission, distribution networks, and renewable energy infrastructure across Australia. Over the past few years, he has collaborated closely with Australian clients, building strong expertise in delivering resilient and sustainable infrastructure solutions.

He completed his Master of Professional Engineering (Structural) at Swinburne University of Technology Melbourne in July 2024 under the Australia Awards Scholarship. In recognition of his academic excellence and meaningful contributions to the community, he was awarded the University Medal as the Most Outstanding Postgraduate of the Class of 2024. He was further invited to serve honorary roles as Valedictorian and Mace Bearer at the December 2025 graduation ceremony, where he received the award.

Yacob is committed to strengthening Indonesia–Australia relations by advancing the Just Energy Transition through a structural engineering perspective.
